Connect New Mexico

Connect New Mexico is a 5-month commitment. Each session focuses on leadership skill development and the opportunity to learn about the statewide operations of a variety of systems and structures in the state.

The program encourages participants to cultivate new ideas and strategies to develop solutions to some of New Mexico’s most pressing issues. Participants are introduced to subject matter experts who provide insight into a wide range of topics. Participants have the opportunity to engage in discussion, inquiry, analysis, and the development of solutions for the complex issues facing our state. The program creates a life-long bond between young professionals and provides them with tools they can take back to their communities in order to implement positive change and improve New Mexico’s quality of life.

Each year, 40 to 45 young professionals, ages 25 to 40 participate in Connect New Mexico. Applicants must be nominated by a Leadership New Mexico graduate. There is a strong focus on diversity when selecting the class; gender, ethnicity, business sector and geographic location are all considerations.

Tuition for the program is $1,600 and covers program costs, transportation during sessions, and meals. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the session locations and hotel accommodations. A limited number of scholarships may be available for those requiring financial assistance. A request for scholarship assistance does not affect selection into the program.
